چکیده
This paper presents novel metamaterial skins formed by 3D Spring Cells exhibiting zero Poisson’s ratio in two directions with no stress concentration on joints. Precise CAD models are generated to perform numerical and experiment analysis. High-fidelity Finite element developed assess the homogenisation study of ratio. Moreover, analytical method is also used present for normalised Young’s modulus. Parametric effect parameter modulus demonstrated based method. Pure shear analysis show off-axis loading behaviour. Structural defect investigated regarding its deformation mechanism under tensile strain. Furthermore, variable stiffness distribution Cell metamaterials while maintaining large strain The frequency buckling spring cells compared equivalent shell. their mechanical behaviours including investigated. Experiment performed validate force–displacement, mechanisms discussed simulations. Finally, construction material taking investigate relations between variety types material.

Variable-Leg-Spring Hopping with Velocity-Dependent Stiffness
Even though biological legs operate amazingly springlike, they clearly deviate from a perfect spring. For instance, experimental data of human hopping and running suggest an increase in leg length and a decrease in leg stiffness between touchdown and takeoff. Here, this variability of human gait is considered as a fundamental system property and introduced via non-constant leg parameters to a 1...
متن کاملBiaxial strain and variable stiffness in aponeuroses.
The elastic structures of many muscles include both an extramuscular free tendon as well as a sheet-like aponeurosis. An important distinguishing feature of aponeuroses is that these tendinous structures function as the attachment and insertion surfaces of muscle fascicles and therefore surround a substantial portion of the muscle belly. As a result, aponeuroses must expand both parallel (longi...
متن کاملFree Vibration Analysis of Variable Stiffness Composite Laminates with Flat and Folded Shapes
In this article, free vibration analysis of variable stiffness composite laminate (VSCL) plates with flat and folded shapes is studied. In order to consider the concept of variable stiffness, in each layer of these composite laminated plates, the curvilinear fibers are used instead of straight fibers. The analysis is based on a semi-analytical finite strip method which follows classical laminat...
متن کاملQuasi-static stop band with flexural metamaterial having zero rotational stiffness
Metamaterials realizing stop bands have attracted much attentions recently since they can break-through the well-known mass law. However, achieving the stop band at extremely low frequency has been still a big challenge in the fields of elastic metamaterials. In this paper, we propose a new metamaterial based on the idea of the zero rotational stiffness, to achieve extremely low frequency stop ...
متن کاملDesign, development and scaling analysis of a variable stiffness magnetic torsion spring
In this paper we report on the design, modeling, experimental testing and scaling analysis of a novel MAgnetic Variable stiffnEess spRIng-Clutch (MAVERIC) device, which may be used as the elastic element of Variable Stiffness Actuators (VSAs). The device, comprising two co-axial diametrically magnetized hollow cylinders, has two degrees of freedom: a rotation of the two cylinders around the com...
